EWISA Information Event

The Center for Security Studies (KEMEA) of the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction announces the “EWISA Information Event” which will be held on the 8th & 9th of November 2016 in Athens, Greece.

The "Early Warning for Increased Situational Awareness" (EWISA) Research and Development project (http://www.ewisa-project.eu/index.php) is co-funded by the EU, as part the Security Research Theme of the 7th R&D Framework Programme, managed by the DG Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission (Grant Agreement 608174).

EWISA is the result of a call for proposals restricted to a consortium of National Border Authorities (topic SEC-2013.3.2-1 "Pre-Operational Validation (POV) on land borders").

The project’s consortium is composed of KEMEA (representing the Greek Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reconstruction), the Finnish Border Guard, Guardia Civil (ES) and the Romanian Border Police.  In EWISA, these public authorities will jointly procure R&D services for their joint Pre-Operational Validation (POV) of innovative solutions for land border surveillance. In this way, the participating (and other) border authorities expect to improve the quality and efficiency of their services (as related to security).

In the “EWISA Information Event” the EWISA consortium will outline its roadmap for their forthcoming procurement of R&D related to state-of-the-art technologies for “network modular video analysis solutions”, which are to be integrated and fused with other supporting sensors, for the provision of intelligence analysis reports. The surveillance technologies are going to be tested in four diverse locations of EU external land borders in a real operational environment.
